COTA responsibilities:
Assess, develop, and implement occupational therapy treatment plans with measurable goals written by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Engage patients with fun, age-appropriate games and activities to keep them motivated.
Coordinate with team members to ensure quality care.
COTA qualifications:
Certification as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and valid state license to practice in Texas.

Basic Physical Requirements:
Must be able to maintain various postures such as kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting for extended periods of time.
Must be able to regularly walk and run for extended periods of time.
Must be able to transition from sitting to standing and vice versa independently.
Must be able to utilize quick body movements as may be required by the behavior intervention plan.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Must be able to transfer/position/transport patients and adaptive equipment.
Must have the visual ability to read and understand written communication via computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
Must have the manual dexterity to perform electronic device functions such as data collection.

Skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant with expertise in ADLs and IADLs, fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, functional mobility, developmental milestones, therapeutic interventions, play-based therapy, and cognitive and motor planning. Experienced in pediatric therapy, including early intervention, family-centered care, feeding and oral motor skills, and self-regulation strategies. Strong soft skills in compassionate care, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and family education, and critical thinking. Proficient in treatment planning, goal setting, EMR documentation, outcome measurement, and standardized assessments.
