Department: Operations
Reports to: Production Superintendent
Location: 4 Sunshine Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 10 hours a day
Position Summary
Germfree Laboratories is seeking a High Voltage Electrician Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our modular manufacturing operations. This position will serve as the technical authority for electrical systems across production, installation, and service activities. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with high voltage electrical systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring technicians to ensure safe, reliable electrical installations.
This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure electrical systems are built and installed correctly the first time, while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the hands-on technical SME for high voltage electrical systems across manufacturing and field service operations
Interpret and implement electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Troubleshoot complex electrical issues in production and some field environments
Support design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives with engineering teams
Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards
Perform installation, wiring, and testing of electrical systems for modular units
Mentor and guide electricians and technicians on best practices
Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for electrical failures
Participate in commissioning, startup, and system verification
Assist with the development of electrical work instructions and standards
Required Qualifications
8+ years of hands-on experience as an electrician
Strong experience with high-voltage electrical systems and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Strong understanding of NEC and electrical safety practices
Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician certification
Experience in manufacturing, modular construction, or industrial facilities
Experience with control panels, PLC systems, and power distribution
Experience supporting commissioning and system startup
