High School Teacher (US History, Electives & Support Roles) Job Description
General Description
The High School Teacher shall prayerfully guide students in the development of academic skills and Christian character, equipping them for success in higher education and life. This role includes teaching core subject areas, supervising online coursework, and facilitating elective learning experiences, all within a Christ-centered educational environment.

Summary of Position Needs
This specific position includes a combination of instructional and supervisory responsibilities:
Teach assigned high school courses (U.S. History)
Supervise online Spanish classes (students are onsite but completing coursework virtually)
Facilitate and/or teach elective courses, including:
Alternative History
Alternative Science
Willingness to sub in other areas of the school, especially middle school, as needed during selected free periods
Qualifications
The High School Teacher shall:
Be a committed Christian who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
Be in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education
Hold at minimum a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field
Be certified or certifiable to teach at the high school level
Have 1–5 years of experience working with high school students (preferred)
Demonstrate a calling to the teaching ministry and a desire to disciple students
Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses according to school curriculum and schedule
Provide instruction in core subjects such as Math, Science, and/or U.S. History
Facilitate engaging elective courses (Alternative History and Alternative Science)
Supervise and support students during online Spanish coursework, ensuring accountability and progress
Integrate Biblical principles into all subject areas
Plan lessons that meet diverse student needs and encourage critical thinking
Use a variety of instructional methods and materials
Classroom & Student Management
Maintain a structured, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment
Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration
Provide timely feedback and academic support to students
Professional & School Responsibilities
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Support school policies, procedures, and mission
Collaborate with colleagues and administration
Supervise extracurricular activities as assigned
Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move around the classroom for extended periods
Ability to sit, use a computer, and monitor students during online coursework
Ability to lift and carry instructional materials (up to approximately 25 pounds)
Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and engagement
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
Capability to manage a classroom environment, including transitions and supervision of students throughout the school day

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
