Job Description
T. Musselman Excavating is looking for a full-time Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This position will be based out of our heavy truck and equipment shop located in Petersburg, ON. The position is available immediately and will be full-time, year-round work with some flexibility in scheduling.
Salary: $30-$40/hr, dependent on experience
Benefits: Available after probationary period, RRSP matching available in 1 year
Responsibilities
Perform service and repairs to all makes and models of heavy equipment
Maintain accurate records of all work performed and parts used. Also noting time spent, complaint, cause, correction, and recommended future repairs
Work safely and efficiently with little or no supervision
Maintain service truck in good working order, while keeping contents stocked and well organized
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Build a strong and supportive network with co-workers, managers, and suppliers
Compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Responsible for own transportation to shop
Other duties will be assigned as required
Desired Skills and Experience
421A considered a strong asset.
Minimum of 3 years heavy equipment repair experience
Will consider 310T or 310S technicians looking for a change that have proven previous heavy equipment repair experience
Strong diagnostic skills are needed to effectively work towards industry standard repair times
Valid drivers license with clean abstract
Must have a positive, can do attitude (Very Important)
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and politely in writing and verbally
Must have own set of technician’s tools and maintain them in good working order
Ability to lift heavy objects throughout the day
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must obtain WHMIS, AODA and Occupational Health and Safety training
