Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery to assist with construction, excavation, grading, demolition, and other related tasks. This role is critical to ensure that projects are completed on time, safely, and according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, graders, and/or cranes.

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.

Safely maneuver machinery around construction sites or excavation zones.

Follow site plans, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors or project managers.

Load and unload materials and equipment.

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Communicate with crew members and site supervisors to coordinate job site tasks.

Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.

Ensure proper documentation of hours worked and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator.

Valid operator’s license or certification (as required by local/state regulations).

Strong understanding of OSHA safety guidelines.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and manuals.

Physical strength and stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.

Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Skills:

CDL license (if operating trucks in addition to machinery).

Basic knowledge of maintenance and minor repair procedures.

GPS or machine control system experience (if applicable).

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

May be exposed to loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
