Heavy Equipment Operator – Alder Creek Aggregates
The successful candidate will join our team at the gravel pit, operating excavators and loaders to support material processing, truck loading, and overall site efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their equipment, and values being part of a positive, team-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $28–$35/hour (based on experience)
Benefits: Group benefits, RRSP matching, and profit sharing
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including excavators and loaders
Process concrete using a pulverizer, separating steel from aggregate materials
Load trucks with various materials in a safe and efficient manner
Operate and load equipment such as the topsoil trommel and recycling crusher
Perform general labour duties as required to support site operations
Assist with routine preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, crushing, and screening equipment
Complete daily equipment checks, including fueling and greasing as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Work safely in and around heavy equipment, tools, and active job sites
Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience
Previous experience operating excavators and loaders required
Experience working in a gravel pit, quarry, or recycling environment is considered an asset
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
