We work on projects ranging from minor asphalt repairs to large commercial construction projects. Byrne & Jones Construction can handle everything outside the building—no job is too big or too small.
Byrne & Jones is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in the greater Kansas City area who will perform highly complex, challenging construction and maintenance work by operating various types of heavy equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Operates a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, derricks, pile drivers, and pavers, to accomplish difficult or highly complex tasks
Pre-job planning with the project manager
Mobilization of the crew truck and job trailer
Conduct and participate in safe working environments, including daily huddles, job safety assessments, toolbox talks, and stretching program
Coordination of material deliveries
Ability to communicate effectively with the owner/architect/engineer
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience operating construction equipment
Valid driver’s license
CDL license preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to operate heavy equipment physically
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment
Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme heat and cold
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
