Heavy Equipment Mechanic

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our team. This role includes the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment, including vegetation spray systems—under the supervision of the Shop Manager.

Full-Time and Part Time Opportunity Available! 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel, gasoline, and spray equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and spray system issues.
• Conduct inspections and test drives to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain accurate repair records and shop inventory.
• Assist with equipment fabrication and custom builds.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field when required.
• During downtime, assist vegetation spray crews in the field, including railroad vegetation management operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in mechanics preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 5 years of clean driving history required.
• Class B CDL preferred but not required.
• Proven experience repairing heavy trucks (both gas and diesel).
• Welding experience required.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers.
• Experience working on sweepers, catch basin trucks, and tractors required.
• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime is needed.
• Must have your own tools.

Pay rate: $25.00-30 hour depending on experience.
