We are looking to hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty on road and off-road equipment based in either Hanna, Alberta or Oyen, Alberta. Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
To ensure success as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, you should have proven experience working on off-road and on road equipment, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues at hand. Ultimately, a top-notch Heavy Duty Mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.
Responsibilities:
Inspecting trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment, in a fleet environment, for proper performance
Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
Repairing damaged equipment parts
Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
Repairing and servicing machine attachments
Performing major repair work when necessary
Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System
Performs other duties as required
Desired skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation
Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Understanding of computer testing technologies
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
Must have a Class 5 driver’s license at minimum
CVIP license preferred
Ability to work after-hours if required
Good communication skills
