ENTREC Alberta Ltd., a diversified trucking company (acquired by LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies) is currently recruiting a full-time Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join its team in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Inspect, service, and maintain trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
Adjust, test, and repair brake systems trailer suspensions, electrical systems, and offloading systems.
Adjust equipment and replacing faulty parts.
Repair damaged equipment parts.
Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles, and a variety of trailer styles.
Repairing and servicing machine attachments.
Perform major repair work when necessary.
Consult with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed.
Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
Perform other duties as required.
Skills and Requirements:
Trade certification or Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Trailer Mechanic, or Truck & Transport Mechanic.
Hold a valid CVIP license.
Minimum 3 years’ experience inspecting and maintaining commercial vehicles
Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 considered an asset).
Strong working knowledge of CVIP inspection standards, defect identification, and documentation requirements.
Experience using computer testing technologies.
Understand vehicle electrical systems, air brake systems, and structural components.
Physically capable of performing inspection and repair tasks, including lifting heavy components.
Willingness to work after hours if required.
Excellent communication skills.
