Heavy Duty Mechanic – Atlantic Road Construction & Paving
ARCP is a locally owned & operated heavy civil construction company. We own & maintain a modern fleet of heavy equipment used for a variety of civil construction projects. We are looking to hire a Heavy Duty Mechanic who is competent and comfortable with diagnosing and completing repairs & maintenance on our full fleet of gear. Having a Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics is an asset; however, we are open to candidates who have relevant experience without the formal trade certification. This position is based in Dartmouth, NS, and services our construction sites in the HRM and surrounding areas.
Requirements:
Red Seal Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment & Repair.
Valid drivers license, and clean drivers abstract.
Experience working on excavators, loaders, rock trucks, skid steers, and other construction related heavy equipment.
Able to maintain regular hours of 7-5 Monday through Friday, with the ability to work flexible hours to complete maintenance when equipment is not in use.
Comfortable working outdoors, in all types of weather, this is a field based position.
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
Ability to safely maneuver equipment when required.
Solid understanding of construction operations and maintenance techniques.
Effective time management skills with the ability to keep yourself on task & schedule.
Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Reliable & trustworthy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.
Service, maintain and /or repair all company heavy equipment.
Communicate with operations on timeline expectations for diagnose and then repair.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
Maintain service documentation for equipment and vehicles.
Upkeep of personal service vehicle.
Conduct equipment maintenance according to established company policies and procedures.
Possible training required.
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.
Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.
