This position provides support to the attorneys and representatives for hearing level cases. They are responsible for the development and handling of assigned cases from the time a hearing is scheduled until a decision is made from an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). The Case Manager shall serve as the main contact between the claimant and the hearing representative.
The primary responsibilities and duties include:
Maintaining client files, updating and checking on statuses regularly with a focus on deadline
Drafting letters, correspondence and legal documents to send to ALJ’s and medical providers with attention to detail
Independently monitor and handle all statues which are representative of deadlines with the Social Security Office of Hearings Operations
Serve as the primary contact with assigned clients on the phone or in person to best determine their needs
Send detailed emails to attorneys and representatives outlining all communications with clients or in relation to clients
Triage all incoming mail relating to assigned clients and process as necessary
Request records from medical providers
Follow up calls to medical providers as necessary to ensure receipt of requested documentation
Review medical records for date ranges, removing duplicates as necessary using a PDF viewer
Download and upload supporting documents, letters, etc. using the Social Security Administration’s Business Services online
Request and collect information from client such as releases and other documentation
Assist other Case Managers as necessary promoting a teaming environment
Answer incoming phone calls
Other tasks as assigned
Education and experience required:
Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred; Associate degree and/or paralegal certificate or two years of relevant work experience is required
Customer service skills and experience is required
Experience with multi-line phone systems, Microsoft Office Suites and data entry is required
Prior legal and/or Social Security experience is a plus
