The Health and Safety Officer will support the Health and Safety Manager in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures. This role is critical in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees, particularly in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of motorsport. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to health and safety standards and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.

• Compliance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
• Training and Communication: Support the organization of health and safety training sessions for staff. Communicate safety procedures and guidelines effectively across the team
• Incident Reporting: Manage the reporting and documentation of health and safety incidents and near misses. Assist in investigating incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Risk Assessments: Assist in conducting risk assessments and ensuring that appropriate control measures are in place. Ensure identified actions are closed out and RAs reviewed
• COSHH: Assist in conducting COSHH assessments are completed as necessary
• Health Promotion: Support initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of health and safety within the organization. Contribute to health and wellness programs for employees
• Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of health and safety training, incidents, and audits. Ensure documentation is accessible and up to date
• Collaboration: Work closely with team leaders and employees to foster a proactive safety culture and encourage reporting of safety concerns
• Continuous Improvement: Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives for continuous improvement in health and safety standards

What do you need to bring to the team?

• NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent level of training
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, e.g. PUWER and best practices
• Experience in a motorsport or engineering environment
• Experience conducting audits, investigations and developing documentation
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging both shop-floor teams and senior management
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and health and safety software
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
