We’re looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our operations in Wingfield, South Australia. In this hands-on role, you’ll partner with leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safety culture, improve systems and ensure our workplaces meet WHS requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being visible in the field, building strong relationships and driving practical safety outcomes.
Responsibilities, include however, not limited to:
 
• Provide practical health and safety advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees.
• Help build a strong safety culture by influencing behaviors and promoting continuous improvement.
• Ensure each site has fit-for-purpose health and safety plans, risk registers and effective controls in place.
• Support a consistent approach to risk management, including tools such as Take 5s and JHAs.
• Lead and support incident, hazard and near-miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor investigation outcomes and safety data in internal systems to ensure accuracy, follow-up and trend analysis.
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections and audits to assess compliance, behaviours and operational risk.
• Provide advice on WHS legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards, and support their application in the workplace.
• Partner with managers, supervisors and Health and Safety Representatives to clarify responsibilities and strengthen capability.
• Review contractor safety management plans and provide guidance on effective contractor management.
• Assist with safety reporting, analysis and monthly performance updates for operational leaders.
• Deliver WHS training, education and awareness initiatives across the business.
• Work closely with the broader H&S team to share learnings, best practice and support company-wide initiatives.
The idea candidate will have:
• A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, or equivalent experience, with a minimum Diploma in Health and Safety.
• A current National Police Clearance and full driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• Experience in a similar health and safety role, ideally across multiple business areas or sites.
• Experience in manufacturing or petroleum environments will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
• Confidence using business systems and technology to manage reporting, investigations and data.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to balance compliance with operational needs.
