Job Summary:

The Health Officer is responsible for overseeing environmental health and safety (EHS), sustainability programs, and EHSS performance at HPPK. This role ensures full compliance with Korean legal requirements and HP internal standards.

This position is mandated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Article 18), requiring HPPK to appoint a qualified Health Officer.

The role focuses on proactively reducing workplace risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in health-related EHS programs across Korea.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Global EHS Regional Team under the direction of the Country EHSS Lead, ensuring overall Health Officer responsibilities at HPPK, including environmental health and safety, sustainability programs, EHSS performance, and dashboard updates, in full compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Holds responsibility of managing projects covering the Health and related to EHS portfolio within South Korea, only if the Korea law allows to support sub-region or complex site.
• Provide health expertise to support South Korea’s evolving workplace health and occupational health program needs.
• Plan, develop, and implement health-related projects (e.g., health checks, workplace health initiatives, and environmental health programs) in line with timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement health programs, conduct health audits, and support incident investigations to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
• Manage and support all health-related regulatory training, programs, licenses, and permits, including coordinating Emergency Response Team activities, drills, and response plans.
• Oversee health incident and injury reporting, investigations, and corrective/preventive actions, ensuring effective and timely closure.
• Identify and forecast health and EHS training needs, ensuring completion of required training programs for employees.
• Ensure health and EHS compliance across all contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors in alignment with HP standards and requirements.
• Support health and EHS requirements in office renovations and innovation projects to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Liaise with external regulatory authorities (e.g., local health agencies and government bodies) as the primary point of contact for health and EHS matters.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Korean occupational health regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university with 6+ years of experience in the health consulting area.
• Have 2-5 years of Occupational Health or Workplace Health experience recommended.
• Certified Health officer license (산업위생관리기사 자격 보유 필수, 산업안전기사 자격 보유 우대) in accordance with Korea Occupational Safety and Health Act and Article 40 of special measurement for the deregulation of corporate activities Act/ Article 17,18 of Occupational Safety and Health Act.
• Excellent people management skills and experience with an affinity for client-facing activities; personable and engaging Ability to listen and understand BU/customer sustainability “pain points” and address those pains by mapping to sustainable solutions Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills Ability to develop and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
