Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Health Information Manager to join the Health Information Services Department


Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.


Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.


About the Role:

We’re seeking a visionary Health Information Manager to drive digital transformation and automation across our health information services.
You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects such as those showcased at the HIMAA Conferences.


What you’ll do:


Champion innovation through AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and cutting-edge digital technologies.
Deliver and optimise projects like Bing Virtual Mail Room and AI Computer-Assisted Coding.
Collaborate with passionate teams to create data-driven solutions that uphold privacy and governance standards.
Join a supportive, forward-thinking team with a culture built on collaboration and excellence.
Make a real difference in shaping the future of health information management.


To be successful in this role you will have:


Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management or a related health discipline.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of data governance, health information legislation, and privacy frameworks.
Proven experience in health information management, clinical workflows, or digital transformation.
Experience leading or supporting automation, AI, or analytics-based improvement projects.
Experience working within complex health systems, ideally in the Victorian public health sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, PowerBI or other analytics-based language models like Python
Strong clinical coding background across a variety of casemix, preference of a minimum of 5 years
Demonstrated experience in project management
