Our client — an international industrial group expanding its operations in Lithuania —is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead the design and maintenance of a modern safety culture at a newly established production site.
This is a key role for someone who wants to build systems from scratch and ensure a safe working environment in a technologically advanced setting.
Responsibilities
• Create and develop the H&S function for a new manufacturing site, including safety policies, programs, preventive actions, and compliance structure;
• Build and maintain an OHS management system (policies, guidelines, instructions) and lead the certification process aligned with international standards (e.g., ISO 45001);
• Ensure the company has an effective process for identifying, tracking, and meeting all legal requirements related to health & safety;
• Conduct site-level and role-specific risk evaluations for employees and contractors;
• Prepare and implement annual training plans in cooperation with HR; deliver awareness sessions, workshops, and safety campaigns;
• Carry out internal audits, inspections, safety walks, and behavioral observations to detect risks and address unsafe practices;
• Take part in incident investigations and support managers in using root-cause analysis methods;
• Manage or contribute to safety-related initiatives, such as fire safety, digitalization of safety tools, facility upgrades, or process-safety management topics;
• Monitor and analyse leading and lagging safety indicators; prepare regular reports for senior leadership;
• Present monthly and annual safety performance reviews.
Requirements:
• University degree in engineering, safety management, or a related technical field;
• 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within complex industrial or manufacturing environments;
• Demonstrated experience in guiding teams and taking ownership of safety-related decisions;
• Strong understanding of national legislation, international standards, and PSM principles;
• Experience with ISO 45001 (lead auditor experience is an advantage);
• Familiarity with digital HSE systems and safety documentation tools;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and influence different levels of the organization;
• Good communication skills in English (at least B2 level).
