In this dynamic and fast growing environment we are looking for a high caliber Head of R&D Analytical - Mass Spectrometry (Thessaloniki).
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development, optimization, and validation of advanced analytical methods with a strong focus on GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and ICP/MS
• Design and implement mass spectrometry-based strategies for impurity identification, degradation profiling, extractables & leachables (E&L), nitrosamine and trace-level quantification
• Oversee structural elucidation of unknown compounds using MS, accurate mass measurements, and fragmentation pattern interpretation
• Ensure effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MS instrumentation
• Review and approve complex analytical datasets, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance
• Lead and mentor a team of scientists in advanced MS techniques and data interpretation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, and regulatory teams
• Act as a scientific subject matter expert (SME) during audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
• Manage multiple high-complexity projects, ensuring delivery within timelines and quality standards
• Lead investigations related to OOS/OOT results, deviations, and root cause analysis using MS data
Requirements:
• Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field (MSc/PhD strongly preferred)
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical R&D with extensive MS experience
• Hands-on experience with advanced MS systems
• Strong knowledge of fragmentation mechanisms and spectral interpretation
• Experience with software tools for MS data processing and interpretation
• Solid understanding of ICH, GMP, and regulatory expectations for analytical data
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience is an asset
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in Greek and English
