Head of Product - Search

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Product - Search to lead one of the most critical parts of our food delivery experience—helping users discover what they want. As the owner of the Gofood search experience, you will define the strategy and roadmap to evolve our search infrastructure, retrieval and ranking systems, query understanding, and discovery surfaces to optimize relevance, conversion, and speed. You will own both the consumer-facing UX and the underlying platform capabilities.

In this role, you’ll lead a cross-functional product team of product managers, designers, analysts, engineers and data scientists to solve complex search and discovery problems at scale. We’re seeking someone with extensive experience in search and recommendation systems building for consumer-facing platforms. What You Will Do:
• Define and lead the product strategy and roadmap for the search and recommendations experiences across all user touchpoints in the app.
• Improve search relevance, speed, conversion, and revenue through innovations in query understanding, ranking algorithms, personalization, and structured data.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, and machine learning teams to build scalable systems that power intelligent and adaptive search.
• Partner with design and user research to craft intuitive, fast, and delightful search and filtering experiences that address diverse user intents.
• Develop robust frameworks to track and optimize search performance (e.g., CTR, conversion, latency, time to booking, revenue per session).
• Lead a growing team of product managers, helping them grow while ensuring high-quality execution in the search domain.

What You Will Need:
• Min of 10+ years of experience in product management, ideally in search and recommendations, with 2 years in a senior manager leadership role.
• Strong technical depth and experience working closely with engineering and data teams on algorithm-driven products such as ranking systems, NLP, or personalization engines.
• Proven track record of building high-performance search or discovery experiences that drive measurable improvements in relevance, conversion, and user satisfaction.
• Strong user and merchant empathy and design sense, with experience translating complex user intents into simple, intuitive search interfaces.
• Experience in marketplaces, consumer apps, or e-commerce is highly preferred—especially in Southeast Asian or emerging market contexts.
• Fluent in written and verbal English
