About this role:

You will lead the end-to-end engineering ecosystem across the region, connecting new product development, customer technical support, and delivery into a single, aligned system.

You will inherit a capable organisation with strong technical depth. The opportunity is to take it further, bringing clearer alignment, stronger commercial focus, and more effective ways of working so engineering delivers consistently at scale.

Important to note

This is a senior engineering leadership role within a mining and manufacturing environment.

It focuses on product engineering, customer technical outcomes, and engineering capability. It does not sit within our IT or digital functions.

Your impact

You will shape how engineering delivers value across the region and how it continues to evolve as the business grows.

• Lead the engineering operating model, aligning Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain around clear priorities and service levels

• Define what engineering works on and why, ensuring effort is aligned to customer demand, revenue opportunities, and strategic priorities

• Operate at executive level with internal stakeholders and customers, influencing decisions, trade-offs, and long-term partnerships

• Drive consistent delivery performance across new product development and customer technical support, improving DIFOT, quality, and responsiveness

• Own the governance of customer technical outcomes, including escalation, root cause, and continuous improvement

• Build and lead a large, distributed engineering organisation, strengthening capability, leadership depth, and succession

This role is accountable for how engineering performs as a system across the Australasia, Africa and CIS regions. You will bring a fresh perspective to how engineering operates and identify where changes will strengthen performance and scalability.

What you bring

You have operated at a senior leadership level within engineering or product organisations in mining, heavy manufacturing, or closely related industrial environments.

• Proven leadership of multi-site or regional engineering organisations, with full accountability for performance, delivery, and outcomes

• Experience shaping or owning an engineering operating model that connects demand, capability, and commercial priorities

• Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of linking engineering decisions to revenue, cost, and customer value

• Confidence and credibility to influence at executive level, both internally and with customers

• Experience navigating complex, cross-functional environments, bringing alignment across Sales, Operations, and Engineering

• Technical grounding that earns credibility, supported by strong judgement and leadership

You have done this before at scale. This role is suited to leaders already operating at this level.

Location: Newcastle, Brisbane or Perth.
