The mission:

As the Head of People, your objective will be to build and implement programs, structures, and guidelines that will help our entire team to seamlessly deliver the best work they are capable of, all the while keeping it as lean, self-serve and scalable as possible.
You will ensure all our key processes (hiring, onboarding, promotions, offboarding) reflect our culture. You will directly manage our People Operations team and Recruiters, while also serving as a guide for other managers. The goal is to ensure that our People team’s work directly enables and facilitates Baubap’s growth and success.
You will be reporting directly to our CEO and collaborate extensively with the entire executive team.
The big questions you will be responsible for solving:
• How and where do we find the most talented, passionate people and convince them to build Baubap with us?
• What is the best way to structure our team that would allow us to grow the business 10x, while keeping everyone aligned around the same outcomes?
• Which are the implications of growing fast that we are not seeing yet, but that we should be planning for already?
• As we grow, how can we maintain an environment conducive to delivering the best possible work without losing efficiency?
• What is the best onboarding experience we can imagine for our new team members, one that truly transmits the product we are building, and that sets them up for a fast success?
• How can we make sure our high performers and managers keep growing with us and become better every single day?
• How do we become the company that high performing people dream to work for?
The expected outcome:
Company wide
• Ensure our existing People guidelines are scalable, and that still “serve” us as we keep on growing,
• Design and implement strategies that ensure that our People team provides support and guidance across the company in order to make Baubap a better, more efficient and even more inspiring place to work,
• Build a world-class onboarding program that helps our team members to quickly ramp into their new role.
Within your own team
• Build, coordinate and grow your team responsible for the day-to-day operations, removing any blockers you find on their way, and helping them to do their best possible work,
• Coordinate the teams to keep improving our People tools (HRIS, ATS, payment platforms) and explore new tools when it makes sense, ensuring we can access reliable and digestable data anytime and be able to act on it
Culture
• Be the main safeguard of the Baubap culture, ensuring we live and breathe it across all our interactions, activities, communication inside and outside of the company
• Oversee the implementation of various culture-fostering events, meetings and activities, to ensure our key values are desired behaviours are constantly on top of our team’s minds.
Team development
• Implement and lead our regular performance review cycles, making sure it is helpful, insightful and that good performance is fairly valued rewarded,
• Design and implement a fair and scalable approach to compensation, helping our team understand why they get paid what they get paid and what skills they need to develop to keep growing with us.
Talent Acquisition
• Lead the talent selection and hiring process, identifying and attracting top talent that aligns with the company culture.
Requirements
• You’ve done this before - you successfully lead fast-scaling teams in constantly changing environment that led to the development and implementation of key processes and policies from scratch
• 7+ years of management experience, ideally leading a People Operations or Human Resources team in a high-growth startup environment in Latin America
• A demonstrated ability to challenge conventional approaches and a willingness to build a unique approach
• Experience working in a lean and agile environment with a hands-on approach
• Skilled at time management and project coordination
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to respond to emerging needs
• You have developed strong views on “what the right way to do things” is, and act with conviction based on strong foundations
• You demonstrated analytical and strategic depth, thinking from first principles across multiple problems, rather than relying on general frameworks:
• Experience in non-People-related functions (e.g., analytics) or generalist backgrounds (e.g., operations, consultant) is highly welcome
• You are always asking “but why” and challenging the way things are done
• You are extremely organised, with attention to detail, well structured and analytical, and love to put things in order
• Excellent, fluent English skill
