As a multidisciplinary Prototyping Engineer, you will work on high-impact defence technologies of national importance, contributing to the design and development of first-of-their-kind systems. This role offers a rare opportunity to collaborate closely with leading defence agencies and innovation partners while transforming complex ideas into real, deployable prototypes. Every project brings a new technical challenge, demanding creativity, precision, and hands-on execution across mechanical, electrical, and embedded domains. If you thrive in environments where experimentation, rapid iteration, and real-world impact matter, this role places you at the forefront of indigenous innovation and advanced engineering.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and iterate mechanical, electronic, and integrated prototypes from concept to functional systems
• Develop cross-domain solutions by combining mechanical engineering, embedded electronics, control systems, and smart components
• Contribute to defence-focused R&D initiatives aligned with national priorities and indigenous development mandates
• Rapidly translate ideas into physical prototypes using tools such as 3D printing, CNC machining, PCB design, and embedded programming
• Test and validate prototypes in laboratory and field environments to ensure durability, reliability, and military-grade performance
• Drive experimentation and research to create novel, patent-ready technologies and technical intellectual property
• Collaborate with defence partners, manufacturing teams, and innovation ecosystems to support co-development and deployment
• Document designs, test results, and technical learnings clearly for internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement by refining designs based on performance feedback and operational requirements
What Makes You a Great Fit
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5–11 years of hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, or advanced prototyping environments
• Strong practical experience in rapid prototyping, from CAD design to physical build and testing
• Comfort working across disciplines rather than being limited to a single engineering domain
• Proficiency with tools and technologies such as AutoCAD, 3D printing, CNC manufacturing, and PCB design
• Strong attention to detail, paired with a mindset geared toward experimentation and innovation
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated interest in developing original solutions and contributing to patentable or research-driven outcomes
• Bonus advantage if you have experience integrating mechanical systems with electronics and embedded controls
