Head of Engineering

CIAL is looking for an exceptional, hands on Head of Engineering to build, lead, and scale our engineering organization in São Paulo. This role is designed for a deeply technical leader who thrives in high impact environments, has a strong SaaS background, and actively drives the adoption of AI tools to elevate engineering performance. Our platform simplifies the collection, organization, and analysis of financial data, enabling financial leaders and supply chain managers across LATAM to make quick, informed, and effective decisions, all within a single unified platform.

What You’ll Do:

Lead Engineering and SRE teams, setting a high bar for talent, execution, and culture

Establish a strong people first leadership approach, focused on growth, ownership, and long term team success

Serve as a key bridge between engineering, product, and executive leadership, shaping strategy and ensuring fast, aligned execution

Own and drive operational excellence, including reliability, observability, incident management, and a strong technical support mindset

Lead the adoption of modern engineering practices, including effective use of AI tools across the engineering lifecycle

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles such as Group Manager, Director, or Head of Engineering

Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams in SaaS companies

Strong hands on engineering background, you’ve built real systems and can go deep when needed (expertise in Python/ backend systems, APIs, and AWS or GCP cloud architecture)

Experience designing and operating large scale backend systems, including distributed architectures, high availability environments, and production grade services

Experience leading SRE , DevOps, or production engineering teams with full ownership of reliability and support

Strong people first leader with a track record of hiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent

Passion for leveraging AI tools to improve engineering velocity and quality

Experience in data intensive environments and fintech, a significant advantage

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
