About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Engineering, based in India, to spearhead the growth, leadership, and scaling of our global Application Engineering organization . This is a critical leadership position, reporting to the EVP of Engineering. It is a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening our world-class engineering teams to support AlphaSense’s global product and technology ambitions.

You will build, scale, and inspire diverse engineering teams across all AlphaSense application domains , ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, enterprise-grade product experiences, while driving engineering excellence, operational maturity, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and scale AlphaSense’s Application engineering organization in India and around the globe, expanding teams across key application domains to support global business objectives.

• Drive the successful delivery of innovative product experiences and platforms, ensuring technology excellence and enabling exceptional customer outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with global Product, Data, and Design teams to define, plan, and execute the product and technology roadmap.

• Lead the talent strategy for India, attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining top engineering talent while fostering an exceptional, high-performance engineering culture aligned with AlphaSense’s global values.

• Oversee architectural, technical, and operational excellence, ensuring systems are built for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Foster a culture of engineering rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement, while championing collaboration, transparency, and alignment across global teams.

• Serve as a senior executive leader in India, representing AlphaSense Engineering within the region and collaborating closely with other India-based leaders to drive site-level growth, engagement, and leadership alignment.

• Guide the organization through hyper-growth and transformation, ensuring both technology and teams scale effectively, balancing agility, innovation, and operational maturity.

Who You Are

• 15+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles (Sr. Director or VP) managing large, distributed, and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Proven success in scaling engineering organizations in India, ideally within global SaaS, enterprise software, or product-driven technology companies.

• Deep experience in delivering high-scale, high-availability, enterprise-grade platforms and products.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technology organizations through phases of hyper-growth, organizational scaling, and technology transformation.

• Strong technical acumen; able to evaluate and guide architectural and design decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Proven track record of building, mentoring, and nurturing diverse, high-performing, and engaged engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and collaboration.

• Outstanding communicator and executive presence, able to influence and align senior stakeholders across global teams and time zones.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.

• Based in India, with experience operating in global, distributed, and multicultural organizations.
