As Head of Engineering (gn), you will partner closely with another Head of Engineering to jointly lead around 10 value stream teams. While each of you owns a dedicated group of teams, the role requires strong alignment, continuous collaboration, and the willingness to challenge the status quo to drive Engineering forward as a whole.

You will join an established Engineering Leadership team and work alongside a group of strong Engineering Managers. Your role is to enable them, set clear direction, and create the structures needed for sustainable high performance.

This role is not about maintaining what exists — it’s about actively shaping how we build: from technical foundations to organizational design.

Your mission is to build an engineering organization that doesn’t just deliver, but continuously improves how it delivers — data-driven, scalable, and future-oriented.

Strategy & Direction

• Translate company goals into clear priorities and ensure measurable business impact

• Co-define and drive the engineering strategy together with senior leadership

Leadership & Organization

• Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers

• Build scalable leadership structures and grow future leaders

Delivery & Performance

• Ensure reliable and predictable delivery across multiple teams

• Use data and KPIs to steer performance and drive continuous improvement

• Proactively identify risks and remove bottlenecks

Architecture & Technical Direction

• Drive system simplification and scalable architectures

• Partner closely with Staff Engineers on technical strategy

• Promote the adoption of new tools, technologies, and ways of working

Operational Excellence

• Establish data-driven decision-making processes

• Leverage AI to improve speed, quality, and engineering workflows

• Reduce complexity and create clarity, focus, and alignment across teams

• Balance short-term delivery with long-term capability building

Your experience & skills

• You bring several years of experience in senior engineering leadership roles (e.g., Head of, Director, or similar)

• You have a proven track record of leading multiple teams and scaling engineering organizations

• You have a strong understanding of modern architectures and organizational scalability

• You have experience building data-driven organizations and managing performance via KPIs

• You have hands-on experience or a strong interest in applying AI in engineering contexts

• You bring strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills

• You are able to create clarity and alignment in complex environments

• You are fluent in English; German is a plus
