Location: We prioritise candidates who are based in Dubai then consider those working remotely in one of our European Hub Locations (UK, Spain or Germany).

We are looking for a Head of DevOps to lead our infrastructure and platform engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, creating tools that help development teams deploy and manage their services independently, and ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, and scalable.

You will lead a team of DevOps engineers who manage our cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, maintain our continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and build the platform capabilities that enable our engineering teams to work efficiently. Your work will directly impact how quickly we can deliver new features, how reliable our services are, and how secure our systems remain.

This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving, and experience managing technical teams. You will work closely with engineering teams, product owners, and security to establish best practices and create a world-class developer experience.

Strategic Leadership and Team Management:
• Define and execute DevOps strategy aligned with business objectives
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers
• Foster a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility
• Recruit and onboard new team members as the organization scales
• Drive the transformation from infrastructure support to platform engineering

Infrastructure and Platform Engineering:
• Oversee multi-cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments
• Ensure all infrastructure changes are managed through Infrastructure as Code with automated validations
• Lead infrastructure simplification and consolidation initiatives
• Manage service mesh, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows
• Monitor infrastructure costs and identify cost-saving opportunities

CI/CD Developer Enablement:
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines ensuring fast feedback and automated deployments
• Standardize deployment processes across teams, creating reusable templates and charts
• Enable developer self-service for deployments, secrets management, and infrastructure provisioning
• Create comprehensive onboarding guides and documentation for new services
• Establish production readiness checklists and service onboarding templates

Observability and Reliability:
• Lead the implementation of service level indicators, objectives, and agreements for critical services
• Oversee the observability stack ensuring comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing
• Establish incident management processes with severity levels and postmortem requirements
• Drive reliability improvements through automated alerting and proactive monitoring
• Implement distributed tracing and error tracking across microservices

Security and Compliance:
• Ensure security by design across all infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Oversee secrets management and access control systems
• Lead vulnerability scanning initiatives and runtime security measures
• Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other regulatory requirements
• Implement log retention policies and audit logging for security investigations

Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role
• Proven track record of leading and scaling DevOps teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes including cluster management, networking, and security
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitOps practices
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation best practices
• Proficiency with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, GCP)
• Experience with service mesh technologies and microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of observability tools (metrics, logging, tracing)
• Experience implementing security best practices in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:
• Experience in blockchain or Web3 infrastructure
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS)
• Experience with chaos engineering and reliability testing
• Experience with CDN optimization and edge computing
