Head of Design

We're looking for a Head of Design to build and lead Apify's Design team. You'll decide how design shapes the product experience and brand across everything we do. You'll work directly with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to make sure design isn't just making things pretty - it's driving decisions about what we build, how customers experience it, and how we tell Apify’s story.

This role is half leadership, half doing. You'll be a strategist, mentor, and the person setting the bar for what great product and brand design looks like at Apify.

What you’ll be working on:

• Lead and mentor a growing team of product and brand designers, building a culture where people collaborate and push each other to improve.

• Partner with Product and Engineering to make Apify's Console, Store, and other touchpoints intuitive and developer-friendly.

• Work with Marketing and GTM teams to keep Apify's brand consistent across the website, Store, and campaigns.

• Evolve Apify's design system - keeping things visually and functionally consistent, scalable, and accessible.

• Establish the design principles, processes, and rituals that help the team ship quality work quickly and collaborate smoothly across functions.

• Ground design decisions in user research, product data, and real insights.

• Be the voice for design quality in company-wide conversations.

Who we’re looking for:

• Proven experience leading design teams in a B2B SaaS.

• Experience with a developer-first company, ideally with exposure to product-led-growth products.

• A strong portfolio showcasing product design leadership and hands-on experience with UX/UI design for complex products or platforms.

• You can work across product and brand design without sacrificing quality or losing the thread strategically.

• You're great at communicating and collaborating - you know how to get people aligned and actually excited about the work.

• You've mentored designers at different levels and helped them grow.

• You can hold a strong design vision while also being pragmatic about shipping under deadline pressure.

• You know Figma, modern design systems, and user research tools (like Lysna) inside and out.

• You've designed for technical audiences - developers, data professionals, AI practitioners - and you get what makes them tick.

What we expect after 3 months

• Get to know the key people in Product, Engineering, Marketing, and GTM - understand what they're working on and where design fits in.

• Meet 1on1 with everyone on the Design team to learn their strengths, what they're struggling with, and where they want to go.

• Get up to speed on Apify's users, products, and what we're actually offering them.

• Review the current design assets, design system, and UX processes to see what's working and what's not.

• Audit the design workflow and spot gaps in consistency, collaboration, or quality.

• Ship a design improvement that has a measurable impact on users.

• Set up design review rituals and make design a real voice in product decisions.

What we expect after 6 months

• Present and start executing a Design Roadmap that aligns with Apify's vision, the Product roadmap, and our OKRs.

• Make sure design is aligned across all teams and touchpoints, and that designers are working smoothly with their teams.

• Elevate Apify's visual language and design system, keeping things coherent across web, product, and marketing.

• Launch usability testing and research routines to gather and act on user feedback continuously.

• Contribute design leadership to a company-wide initiative.

• Be the voice for user-centric design thinking across Apify.
