Role Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced AML professional to join the ONE Group’s Jersey Compliance function. Acting as the Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Jersey, you will play an important role in the development and oversight of the AML/CFT framework within the Group’s Jersey entity and the Jersey Compliance strategy, ensuring it is comprehensive, robust and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations for MSBs and VASPs.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to, advise, and remediate Compliance, AML and financial crime issues identified by ONE Group’s onboarding or operational teams

Advise on customer reports for the Group New Business Committee

Develop and maintain ONE Jersey’s crypto asset and fiat transaction monitoring capabilities

Investigate potentially suspicious financial activity across multiple geographies

Liaise with official authorities to support their investigations

Assist with the drafting and maintenance of local Compliance and AML related processes and procedures

Help to build a centre of excellence in a range of AML issues (and in particular in complex ownership structures) and assist in training the firm’s onboarding team in your areas of expertise

Prepare Compliance and financial crime reports and management information for ONE Jersey’s Executive Board, and the Group Audit & Risk Committee

Assist in Group Compliance projects

Skills and Experience

You have strong analytical skills

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

You are a proactive team player with an ability to take initiative and assume responsibility

You are able to identify, escalate and communicate issues to management in an effective and professional manner

You have 5+ years relevant experience

You have experience in AML, in either KYC/EDD or transaction monitoring in your day to day activities

You have experience dealing with high risk customers, and in particular in understanding and investigating complex ownership structures 

Relevant Compliance, AML or financial crime qualification, for example ICA or ACAMs are preferred
