The Role
A leading corporate services provider in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) is seeking an experienced and dynamic executive to lead and manage the business. This senior position requires a highly qualified professional with extensive knowledge of the BVI regulatory landscape and strong operational management experience. The ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple international offices to ensure efficiency, profitability, and results will be essential.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in strategic management and reporting, directly reporting to the Managing Director. Due to the nature of our business, the role requires a strong understanding of and ability to apply corporate and fiduciary services. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in emerging areas, products, and risks, including sanctions, virtual assets, FATCA, and CRS.
This role requires at least 10 years of leadership experience and a demonstrated track record of mentoring and cultivating talent.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Managing Director in the overall management and strategic development of the corporate services and fiduciary business. Lead ongoing strategic initiatives for the corporate and fiduciary business lines in collaboration with the MD.
• Collaborate with local leadership, as appropriate, to coordinate the business transformation, ensuring it aligns with the evolving regulatory framework and business offerings, and is well-positioned to meet these challenges.
• Ensure that new and ongoing projects are thoroughly documented, effectively managed, and successfully delivered to meet strategic objectives.
• Establish challenging yet attainable key performance indicators for the company's different teams to encourage growth and protect the business.
• Motivate all staff through strong leadership to achieve the company's business plan.
• Oversee intra-group arrangements to guarantee they meet each country's regulatory and operational standards, including business continuity testing.
• Assist in managing corporate structures and oversee trust administration matters as required.
• Be prepared, if called upon, to provide senior-level guidance to staff on complex registry filings, including resolving rejected filings via the VIRRGIN platform.
• Work closely with compliance and operational teams to maintain high regulatory and governance standards.
• Coordinate and oversee fiduciary relationships, as well as offering personal Directorship services.
• When necessary, build and sustain relationships with key clients, both internally and externally.
• Serve as a point of escalation for incidents or complaints.
• Review and analyse financial statements to aid internal reporting and risk management.
• Prepare management reports for the Board and senior team, outlining project progress.
• Develop and execute training initiatives covering corporate work, administrative actions, and develop communication strengths.
• Inspire and motivate all staff by demonstrating the company's values and fostering its culture, ensuring that employees uphold these principles.
Experience and Skills
• Minimum of ten years' experience in a senior leadership role at an executive level within the financial services and customer relations industry, with a proven track record of success.
• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
• Expert knowledge of the VIRRGIN Registry System.
• Strong understanding of BVI corporate, AML, regulatory, and financial services legislation, and how this translates operationally to a business.
• Working knowledge of trusts and fiduciary arrangements.
• Ability to understand and analyse financial and operational performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven record of talent development.
• Exceptional organisational and project management skills, given the high volume of work.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Results-driven with a clear track record of meeting targets and deadlines.
• Ability to galvanise support from stakeholders across multiple international offices.
