West Penn Energy Services is seeking an experienced HDPE Pipe Fusion Technician to support upcoming field projects. This role performs fusion work on large-diameter, heavy-wall HDPE pipe (20” SDR7) using a McElroy 630 fusion machine. This is a full-time, long-term position based out of our Shelocta office, with most work performed in the field.

Responsibilities

Perform HDPE butt fusion on large-diameter, heavy-wall pipe.

Operate a McElroy 630 fusion machine safely and efficiently.

Set up equipment, align pipe, verify temperatures, and complete fusion cycles per F3190 standards.

Maintain accurate fusion logs and documentation.

Inspect fusion joints for quality and compliance with specifications.

Participate in daily safety meetings, JSAs, and toolbox talks.

Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety requirements.

Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.

Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, QA/QC personnel, and project teams.

Required Qualifications

Experience fusing large-diameter, heavy-wall HDPE pipe (20” SDR7 or similar).

Proficiency operating a McElroy 630 fusion machine.

Valid F3190 fusion certification.

Strong understanding of HDPE fusion procedures and safety practices.

Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding field conditions.

Valid driver’s license.
