Hardware Support Engineer – Enterprise Servers

Location: Milwaukee, WI (Onsite) - This a contract that will last at least a year, but has the potential to extend for multiple years.

Salary: 75-95K

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Hardware Support Engineer to provide onsite support for enterprise server infrastructure supporting a commercial healthcare solution. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and managing firmware and hardware configurations for server platforms operating in a production healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise server hardware such as HPE ProLiant servers or comparable platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite hardware support for enterprise server infrastructure supporting a commercial healthcare solution.
• Install, configure, and maintain HPE ProLiant servers or comparable enterprise server platforms.
• Manage firmware, BIOS, and system component revisions to ensure platform stability, security, and vendor compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues involving CPUs, memory, RAID controllers, storage drives, power supplies, and network interfaces.
• Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
• Utilize server management tools such as HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) for monitoring and remote diagnostics.
• Review hardware logs and alerts to proactively identify potential failures or performance issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, software, and vendor support teams to resolve system issues impacting the healthcare solution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of hardware configurations, firmware versions, and maintenance activities.

Requirements:
• 3+ years of enterprise server hardware support or data center technician experience.
• Hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant servers or comparable platforms such as Dell PowerEdge or Lenovo ThinkSystem.
• Experience performing firmware updates, BIOS configuration, and server hardware lifecycle maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving server components including storage, RAID, memory, and networking hardware.
• Experience working in production infrastructure environments.
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Milwaukee, WI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting infrastructure in healthcare or other regulated environments.
• Familiarity with server management tools such as HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC, or Lenovo XClarity Controller.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server or Linux environments.
• Experience working with enterprise hardware vendors for troubleshooting and support.
