Job Description
The SAN MATEO COUNTY FAIR is seeking Guest Services staff members to work in a fun and friendly environment during the San Mateo County Fair.
This is a seasonal position from June 2 through June 14.
You must have an open schedule and be available day and/or evening shifts during these dates and be available to work on the weekends of June 6-7 and June 13-14.
Pay is $20.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Greet Fair guests and provide general Fair information.
Resolve guest complaints.
Assist with the rental of strollers and wheelchairs.
Assist with the opening and closing of booths and the proper storage of guest services equipment.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Punctuality is a must as this is time sensitive position.
Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to interact with all in a professional, helpful, courteous, and tactful manner.
Excellent oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with the public.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients, and customers using principles of good customer service.
Willingness to be flexible and work with the changing workload, and sudden shifts in priorities without losing focus on the “big picture”.
Requires a willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges, as well as being open to change and to considerable variety in the workplace.
Requires being responsible, reliable, and dependable to fulfill job obligations.
Available to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform the responsibilities of this position.

Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to speak, hear, and see. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
