As the Growth Manager, IRL at Basic Capital, you’ll lead our real-world growth engine — connecting with founders, operators, and ecosystem leaders through events, community activations, and hyperlocal relationship building. Your goal: grow Basic Capital’s presence and reputation across the country’s fastest-moving startup hubs by turning genuine connections into measurable business outcomes.

This role blends creative brand building with strategic growth. You’ll design and execute in-person experiences that bring founders together, deepen trust within the community, and position Basic Capital as a foundational partner to emerging companies. From intimate dinners to large-scale ecosystem events, you’ll shape how the Basic Capital brand shows up in real life.

About the Role

As Growth Manager, IRL, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing the in-person community strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and new business. You’ll build trusted relationships with founders and executives, co-create activations with ecosystem partners, and transform community momentum into pipeline and partnerships.

What You’ll Do

• Design and host IRL experiences — from founder dinners and roundtables to larger ecosystem events that bring value to the startup community.

• Build deep relationships with founders, operators, and community leaders across NYC, SF, and MIA startup ecosystems.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and growth teams to amplify events and turn community engagement into measurable growth opportunities.

• Develop creative, localized campaigns that blend guerilla marketing, partnerships, and storytelling to make Basic Capital the go-to financial partner for founders.

• Represent Basic Capital as a visible, trusted presence in key startup communities — speaking, hosting, and connecting authentically.

• Track and report on engagement metrics, event ROI, and relationship outcomes to guide the broader go-to-market strategy.

• Travel regularly to key markets to build in-person relationships and host events that strengthen our network nationwide.

• Experienced in community building, partnerships, or experiential marketing, with measurable success driving brand growth through engagement.
