He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager (AOM) for Rodney, the Group Operations Manager (GOM) has direct responsibility for the leadership, direction, mentoring and support of frontline personnel within a provincial, rural or remote area, (including allocated casuals, relief staff and volunteers). The GOMs are responsible for the provision of efficient and effective Emergency Ambulances Services within the District.

The Group Operations Manager will be responsible for a range of portfolios and be part of Area Operations planning. The GOM’s primary focus is staff management and support, with incident management second, and clinical response third.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours, Mon-Sun. This role will have access to a response capable pool car during work hours.

These roles require proven competence at a tactical management level, with the ability to focus on operational detail and execute strategy, informed by a strong understanding of operational matters and specific in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing health and social care.
