Our Group Fitness Instructors are the heartbeat of our classes, not to be confused with our Gym Instructors, they are essential to creating an engaging and uplifting class environment.
This position is primarily focused on delivering Aqua Fitness classes across Gallagher Aquatic Centre and Waterworld, with the current hours covering 3 Aqua classes per week. While your main responsibilities sit within our Aqua classes, there will also be opportunities to support additional aqua classes, as well as cover land‑based group fitness classes in our studio at Waterworld when required, offering a diverse and rewarding instructing experience across both facilities.
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you bring passion, confidence, and a natural drive to inspire others. You promote your classes with enthusiasm, connect with our members, and motivate them to stay committed to their wellbeing goals. Once the class begins, your primary responsibility is to maintain high energy, ensure safe and effective technique, and create an uplifting experience for every participant. You will also have the skills to appropriately progress or regress exercises as needed, ensuring all members, regardless of experience level, can participate safely and successfully. At the end of each session, you celebrate achievements, acknowledge effort, and remind members of the purpose behind their journey.
We are seeking a trained or experienced fitness professional who can lead by example.
If you have a genuine passion for health and wellbeing, an energetic presence, and the ability to thrive in front of a crowd, this role is for you. You’ll support new participants with extra guidance, encourage regulars to push through challenging moments, and maintain a positive, motivating atmosphere, whether in the pool or the studio. All of this is done with professionalism, care, and of course, a big smile.
