Randall Oaks Golf Club is seeking a Greenkeeper Specialist II to play a key role in maintaining one of the region’s premier golf facilities. This is an at-will position reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and offers the opportunity to make a visible impact every day.
Position Overview
The Greenkeeper Specialist II performs highly skilled golf course maintenance duties with a strong emphasis on pesticide applications, course setup, irrigation support, and operational excellence. This role works independently while also providing guidance and support to seasonal staff and contractors—leading by example through professionalism, safety, and integrity.
What You’ll Do
Golf Course & Grounds Excellence
Perform safe, accurate pesticide applications in compliance with policies and regulations
Maintain detailed chemical application records and digital pesticide inventory
Assist with daily golf course setup, inspections, and moisture readings
Support irrigation maintenance, repairs, and planning
Help prepare the course for tournaments and special events
Refurbish tee equipment during winter months for the upcoming season
Leadership & Team Support
Work alongside and support crew members with efficiency and professionalism
Assist with equipment training and ensure PPE and safety standards are followed
Provide feedback and contribute to long-range golf grounds planning
Operations & Administration
Maintain a clean and organized spray area
Assist with monthly inspections, supply inventories, and reports
Support data entry and spreadsheet creation using Microsoft Excel
Transfer equipment between Randall Oaks and Bonnie Dundee as needed
Seasonal & Facility Support
Assist with snow and ice removal (including weekends)
Help with Fourth of July flag displays and community events
Feed the swans (yes, really!)
Assist other Park District departments as needed

Additional Details:
This is a non-exempt hourly position that requires overtime.
Work hours:
Summer: 5:00am – 1:30 pm
Spring/Fall: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Winter: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Weekend or holiday hours are required as well as extended hours as needed.
