Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16-29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing. We operate a Youth Centre, offering barrier-free counselling, hot meals, and community programming, and a Transitional Home, providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

About the Role
As a Grocery Volunteer, you will be responsible for:
Grocery Shopping:
Assist in shopping based on the weekly list provided.
Select the most cost-effective option for each item without compromising quality.
Load groceries into vehicle for transport to the Youth Centre.
Food Delivery & Sorting:
Unload food from the vehicle into the Youth Centre.
Assist in neatly sorting food in the designated space in the pantry for easy inventory tracking and retrieval at the Youth Centre.
What You Bring
Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Able to navigate a grocery store independently.
Comfortable lifting items up to 25 lbs.
Strong organizational and spatial planning skills.
Commitment to social justice, anti-racism, anti-oppression, housing first approach, harm reduction approach, and trauma-informed care.
