Grocery Clerk (Cash Office)

Job Summary

As a Grocery Clerk within our Cash Office team, you will be responsible for accurately handling, reconciling, and safeguarding all store cash and front-end transactions. This role supports daily store operations by ensuring proper cash controls, timely deposits, and accurate reporting.

Job Responsibilities

Count, balance, and reconcile daily cash, checks, and merchant terminal transactions

Prepare bank deposits and ensure timely and secure handling of funds

Verify cashier tills and investigate cash discrepancies

Maintain accurate cash office records and financial logs

Support front-end operations and assist front-end team as needed

Ensure compliance with company cash-handling policies and loss-prevention

procedures

Communicate discrepancies or issues to management promptly

Maintain absolute confidentiality of financial and business information

Required Skillsets

High attention to detail and accuracy

Competent and accurate when dealing with numerical data

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to follow cash-control procedures and company policies

Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual

Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Problem-solving skills coupled with professional communication and teamwork

Ability to work in a fast-paced grocery environment

Previous cash office or bookkeeping experience

Familiarity with POS systems and cash management software

Prior experience processing Western Union transactions is a strong plus

Compensation:

CI$10.00 - CI$14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
