Green Freight Intern, Beijing

The ICCT is looking for an intern to join our office in Beijing, working to support the green and low-carbon freight projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the nonprofit sector, and decarbonization business. 

You will: 

Contribute to research projects that analyze and communicate the status of green freight policies, intermodal development and logistics supply chain decarbonization in China and advanced markets 

Support on technical analysis, reporting, presenting and stakeholder meetings for freight related project 

Support report communication and outreach material drafting works 

Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed 

You have: 

Senior undergraduate or graduate student. Preferable major in Transportation, Environment Science & Engineering, Automotive, Geoscience or Planning. 

Excellent and demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and research skills. Experienced in working with Microsoft offices. 

Data analysis and visualization skills. Advanced excel, coding, statistical and database tools, GIS tool are preferred. 

Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese, strong ability in spoken and written English. 

Ideally with experience or knowledge in transportation planning, vehicle emissions, automotive technologies, or environmental data analysis.  

Good understanding on climate change and transportation will be preferred, enthusiasms on working with researchers and international colleagues.  

Capability to work at least 3 days per week, and on-site work in ICCT Beijing office at least 2 day per week. The intern will be at least 6 months. 

Our benefits 

The internship contract will have a duration of 6 months, with a potential extension to 12 months. You will work in our Beijing office and be guided by our experienced researchers. ICCT will provide a laptop and other office equipment as needed. We are offering a salary of CNY 3,362 a month (3 days a week), or an amount proportional to the workload allowed by your university.
