Job Description
The GPE has single point responsibility for projects they are assigned. These are to be completed on time, on budget and according to project quality requirements. This responsibility extends from formal acceptance at an internal Kick-Off meeting through to receipt of final payment from the customer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support sales activities by evaluating RFQ packages and preparing quote estimates for review with respective senior / lead engineer prior to submission to client.
Review the sales job file before internal kick off meeting to ensure it is comprehensive. Any grey areas or omissions shall be documented with a timeline for resolution without impacting project deliverables
To review the history of problems on previous similar projects regarding the product and develop and implement a strategy to mitigate against such risks occurring again.
To implement and execute a detailed project execution plan and to adapt this project plan to mitigate changes in the project risk profile
Implement engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality strategy based on contractual requirements and Jord procedures.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, international codes, regional regulations, and best practices.
Execute project communication using the Job Repository ensuring that all correspondence is generated and filed.
Manage project scope and ensure that all opportunities for EOT (extension of time) and EOC (extension of cost) are documented and claimed in line with the contractual requirements in a timely and professional manner.
Execute project reporting in line with Jord Energy procedures in a timely manner.
Promptly report any critical risks to the reporting manager.
Perform special tasks as assigned by the reporting manager as required.
Support quality control and assurance checks and tests and verify project results and outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
Freshers or At least 2 years Project engineering & execution experience with an understanding of Engineering,
Fabrication Procedures, Procurement, Shipping and QA/QC Methods
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering combined with strong technical knowledge
Familiarity with rotating equipment, including API 610 centrifugal pumps, API 675 dosing pumps, and electric
motors.
Knowledge of International codes and standards such as ASME, API / HI, IEC, NEC is an added advantage
Knowledge of Pump hydraulic sizing, Line sizing, pressure drop calculation is an added advantage.
Knowledge of static equipment such as shell-and-tube heat exchangers and tanks will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles, including heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid mechanics.
Experience in managing projects that adhere to timeline, budgets, quality and mitigate ris
Experience in technical procurement and sub-contractor vendor managemen
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong business relationships with customers & Vendors.
Excellent communication and Problem-solving skill
Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Power point & Word) and MS project professional.
Certification in process design or related courses will be considered an added advantage.
