Job Description

Grademan / Gradeperson

Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Grademan / Gradeperson to work on duct bank projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Work with the foreman to determine work planning and flow

Establish grade for civil work

Work closely with the foreman to respond to materials needed

Maintain a high level of communication with the crew and operators to ensure safety, quality and timing

Complete site documentation as required

Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions

Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:

2+ years of grade work experience

Civil / Earthworks experience

Prior duct bank experience is an asset

Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets

Ability to use various survey equipment

Safety conscious

Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms

Organized and always one step ahead of the crew

Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman

Able to support other positions as needed

Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail

Ability to mentor workers for advancement

Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty

Required Certifications:

CSTS 2020

WHMIS 2015

Ground Disturbance Level 2
