Job Description
The Ministry of Justice leads the justice sector to reduce crime and reoffending and deliver modern and accessible justice services. We want people to be able to deal with the justice system easily and quickly. It’s an exciting time to join us as our modernisation programme gathers pace.
The Enterprise Application Architect will play a key part within the Architecture Team, helping drive business transformation within the Ministry of Justice.
This role will see you responsible for management, development and consolidation of the Ministry’s business applications portfolio in a manner that maximises business value and manages risk and cost. It will also be responsible for integrating new private and public-sector service offerings with the Ministry’s processes and business applications.
To be successful in this role you will need:
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience; and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Understanding of public sector systems and processes, including accountability requirements and the use of performance information to inform decision-making
• Providing intellectual and professional leadership across and within organisations, including experience mentoring and developing junior staff and peers
• Experience with a recognised strategic planning and/or enterprise architecture methodology.
• Demonstrable experience with the development, implementation and evaluation of application projects/initiatives with multiple dependencies at strategic and operational levels.
• Demonstrable track record in working with staff and client personnel in the implementation and use of architectures, standards and guidelines for the specification and management of an application
• Comprehensive understanding of business planning and how these are refined down to implementing business change
• Proven understanding and experience of Project Management methodologies, and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles and practice
• Proven understanding and experience of quality assurance techniques in a continuous improvement environment
• Proven understanding and experience of good business analysis practice and methodologies
• Leading complex projects to successful completion
• Building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across and within organisations
• Communicating with a wide range of audiences on complex issues
• Working with senior managers
