We are seeking a Government Affairs Manager for a fixed-term contract covering AbbVie's external communication towards policymakers and other key stakeholders related to corporate communication and defined brands.
In this position you will develop policy input, collect information about ongoing processes and help AbbVie communicate clearly to stakeholders and secure favorable environment for our company. The position will also contribute to develop executing the developed strategy for AbbVie’s external engagements and priorities and secure that these are executed in a good way.
The position also supports all AbbVie’s patient engagement managers on questions related to government affairs.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies to build strong and trusted relationships with policy makers to shape a favorable environment for our brands and guarantee our freedom to operate.
• Continuously deepen understanding of healthcare environment, map relevant stakeholders (e.g., Politicians, agencies, patient and physician Associations and trade bodies), understand their role in future healthcare policies and identify key challenges and opportunities for the Affiliate and specific brands.
• Write and develop briefs/executive summaries for management.
• Proactively identify opportunities for AbbVie and create favorable environment to achieve business objectives and defend AbbVie vs. government policies that could harm the organization.
• Work cross functionally with Market Access, Corporate Affairs, HEOR, and Commercial teams to develop and align the GA strategy across the Scandinavian Affiliate.
• Participate in Area GA network, share best practices and key learning and identify possible synergies or common projects to work on. 
• Ensure internal alignment across Scandinavia and support team members in external engagements.
• Higher education in relevant field
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in one of the following:• Government affairs/external affairs or communications function in a pharmaceutical or medical device company;
• PR/Communications Agency;
• Government agency as a press secretary or similar
• Strong communication skills – especially written
• Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills
• Positive team player
• Fluent in Danish and English, both written and oral
This is a fixed-term contract for approximately 12 months, with a start date as soon as possible or upon agreement.
