JOB SUMMARY: The Starter/Ranger serves as an ambassador for the Lisle Park District’s River Bend Golf Club and creates an excellent presentation and provides quality customer services throughout the customer’s time at the facility. This position greets and welcomes each player. The Starter/Ranger keeps the first tee on time and maintains appropriate time sequences throughout their shift. Responsibilities include updating tee sheets and keeping all vital information organized. This individual maintains a neat and orderly presentation at the first tee box. Duties also include understanding the pace of play policy and monitoring play on the golf course while providing updates when necessary. Maintain and update a singles list.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
· Schedule tee times and ensure groups tee off on time
· Explain and enforce course rules and food and beverage policy
· Welcome golfers, answer questions, and provide information about the course
· Monitor the course for unauthorized food and beverages, and collects trash
· Direct traffic on the course, including escorting non-registered golfers off the course
· Monitor supplies and report to supervisor when running low
· Communicate with supervisor and report any issues or deviations from course policies.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Basic knowledge of golf and prior customer service experience preferred
Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to promptly and enthusiastically attend to customer needs).
Ability to work independently in day-to-day operations with general direction from supervisor.
Friendly, responsible and outgoing personality
Good time management
Must pass a criminal background check
Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing ≤ 30 lbs on a daily. Lifting assistance is required when lifting > 30 lbs
Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed
SCHEDULING : This is a seasonal position starting April 1, 2026 and ending in November (weather dependent). You can expect to work about 10-25 hours per week. Scheduling will includes various shifts Monday through Sunday.
