Requirements:
Industrial Relations & Union Management
• Lead and manage industrial relations at the plant level to ensure a stable, harmonious, and productive work environment.
• Handle collective bargaining processes, including wage negotiations and settlements with trade unions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives and workmen.
• Develop and implement effective industrial relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Statutory Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
• Oversee statutory compliance related to key labour legislations, including:
• Factories Act
• Industrial Disputes Act
• Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act
• Minimum Wages Act
• Payment of Wages Act
• Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF)
• Employees’ State Insurance (ESIC)
• Standing Orders Act
• Bonus Act and other relevant labour laws
•
• Ensure timely maintenance and submission of statutory registers, records, and returns.
• Coordinate with government authorities, labour departments, and inspectors during audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Legal Matters & Court Cases
• Manage labour-related legal matters, including industrial disputes and employment-related litigation.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors and consultants for handling court cases and legal proceedings.
• Represent or support the organization in labour courts, tribunals, and statutory hearings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and track progress of ongoing legal cases and litigation matters.
Grievance & Disciplinary Management
• Address employee grievances, workplace disputes, and disciplinary matters effectively.
• Conduct domestic enquiries and investigations in accordance with statutory and organizational guidelines.
• Implement disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies and labour laws.
Policy Implementation & Advisory
• Develop and implement HR and IR policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
• Provide expert guidance to plant leadership and senior management on industrial relations and labour law matters.
• Identify potential IR risks and implement preventive measures to maintain workforce stability.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Work closely with plant operations, HR leadership, and management teams to align workforce strategies.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen employee relations and improve shop-floor engagement.
• Facilitate effective communication between management and the workforce.
Qualifications
• MBA / MSW in HR, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, or a related field.
• Additional certification in Labour Laws or Industrial Relations will be an advantage.
Experience
• 15–20 years of HR experience with strong expertise in Industrial Relations within manufacturing or chemical industries.
• Proven experience handling unionized workforce environments, wage negotiations, and labour disputes.
• Demonstrated expertise in statutory compliance, labour litigation, and legal case management.
