Global Web Developer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

OX Tools Global is seeking a skilled and proactive Global Web Developer to manage, transition, and develop our websites across various brands, ensuring they meet high standards of functionality, performance, and brand alignment. This role is essential to driving our online presence by overseeing new website builds, transitioning sites to WordPress, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date SEO product listings through collaboration with third-party providers like Salsify, PriceSpider, and Bazaar Voice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Transition & Development
•    Lead transition of regional and global sites to WordPress.
•    Develop and maintain custom themes/child themes and reusable components (beyond page builders).
•    Extend Elementor/Beaver Builder safely using PHP, templates, hooks, CSS, and JavaScript.
•    Manage end-to-end website builds and major updates.
•    Ensure mobile responsiveness, brand alignment, and UX consistency

Technical Implementation & Governance
•    Maintain clean, documented, scalable code.
•    Ensure compatibility across WordPress core and plugin updates.
•    Implement structured staging/UAT workflows for major releases.
•    Collaborate with marketing and regional teams on functional enhancements.

Third-Party Integrations
•    Integrate and maintain third-party tools (e.g., Salsify, PriceSpider, Bazaarvoice).
•    Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and performance issues.
•    Coordinate with vendors on updates and data accuracy.

 Security, Compliance & Risk Management
•    Own WordPress security best practices across all sites.
•    Configure and maintain security tools (e.g., Wordfence/Sucuri, WAF/CDN rules).
•    Enforce least-privilege access, 2FA, and role-based controls.
•    Monitor vulnerabilities, malware alerts, and plugin risks.
•    Ensure GDPR/UK GDPR compliance including:
o    Cookie consent governance
o    GA4/GTM tracking compliance
o    Privacy policies and data retention standards
o    Privacy-by-design implementation across forms and analytics

Performance & Reliability
•    Own Core Web Vitals (CWV) performance targets.
•    Optimise caching, media, scripts, and CDN configuration.
•    Define and maintain backup and restore processes (RPO/RTO standards).
•    Conduct restoration testing and rollback planning.
•    Support multi-region and multi-language technical structures (hreflang, canonical, internal linking).

SEO & AI Discoverability
o    Lead technical SEO workstreams including:
      -  Structured data/schema
      - Crawl/index optimisation
      - Redirect and canonical strategies
      - Site health monitoring
o    Ensure visibility across traditional search and AI discovery surfaces.
o    Partner with marketing to implement on-page SEO consistently.

Analytics & Reporting
•    Monitor performance via Google Analytics and Search Console.
•    Analyse data trends and provide optimisation recommendations.
•    Track performance across global regions.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

•    Education
     - Degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or equivalent experience.
•    Experience
     - 5+ years in WordPress development and website management.
     - Proven experience transitioning and managing multi-region websites.
•    Technical Skills
     - Advanced WordPress engineering (beyond page builders)
     - PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
     - Custom theme/child theme development
     - Technical SEO implementation
     - Security hardening and patch management
     - Performance optimisation (CWV)
     - Experience with analytics tools (GA4, Search Console)

     - Familiarity with third-party integrations (Salsify, PriceSpider, etc.)
