Position Summary
The Global Program Manager, Technical Education is responsible for architecting, building, and managing Armstrong’s global technical learning ecosystem. This role leads the end-to-end development of training programs for internal teams, partners, and customers—covering foundational education, product and application knowledge, and advanced expert-level certification tracks.
This position directs the creation of technical educational content, collaborates with Offering and Application Engineering to translate complex engineering concepts into structured learning materials, manages the global training calendar, and designs Armstrong’s world-class technical training and demonstration centre.
The role requires a unique blend of HVAC/mechanical expertise, instructional design capability, cross-functional leadership, and program management discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Education Strategy & Architecture
Establish Armstrong’s global technical learning framework, including foundational, product-specific, application-specific, and certification levels.
Define long-term strategy for education platforms, learning formats, and delivery models.
Serve as the global curator for Armstrong’s technical education canon—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and instructional quality.
Align education strategy with commercial priorities, product launches, and capability-building objectives.
Technical Content Development & Instructional Design Leadership
Collaborate with Offering Managers, Application Engineering, and SMEs to translate complex engineering concepts into structured teaching.
Lead creation of modules, diagrams, learning paths, scripts, and storyboards for 2D/3D animation and video.
Partner with Global Design and Animation/Video teams to produce engaging digital learning assets.
Ensure best practices in adult learning design.
Global Training Program Deployment & Management
Own the global technical training calendar and coordination processes.
Build and manage Armstrong Academy programs, including advanced technical specializations and certifications.
Partner with Regional Marketing to adapt and deploy training consistently.
Drive internal capability-building and external education for partners, reps, contractors, and customers.
Training Centre / Technical Demonstration Facility Development
Lead conceptualization, design, and realization of Armstrong’s technical training and demonstration facility.
Define user experience flows, interactive demonstrations, hydronics/pumping configurations, and hands-on training systems.
Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, and vendors to install and maintain demo assets.
Manage operational standards, safety, audiovisual systems, and continuous facility evolution.
Program Operations & Governance
Oversee administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), including tracking participation and certifications.
Develop dashboards and reporting on training effectiveness and capability uplift.
Implement governance for scheduling, event management, feedback cycles, and content lifecycle updates.
Continuously refine workflows for scalability, efficiency, and learner experience quality.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Systems, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum 7 years in technical training, applications engineering, sales engineering, product education, or similar roles.
Ability to simplify and structure complex engineering concepts.
Experience designing or delivering technical training programs, curricula, or demo labs.
Strong cross-functional leadership across Product Management, Applications, Sales, and Marketing.
Proven program management discipline.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with adult learning methodologies or certification development.
Experience with hydronics loops, VFD systems, or controls in demo/training setups.
Familiarity with storyboarding or technical content production workflows.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, or 3D models.
Experience in global/multi-region B2B industrial technology environments.
