POSITION DESCRIPTION
OX Group is seeking an experienced and driven Global Packaging Project Lead to own end-to-end delivery of a 9-month regional packaging transformation programme across ANZ, North America, and EUK — spanning 320 SKUs across the OX, BORA, and TRACER brands. This is a single-threaded leadership role, accountable for programme delivery, design governance, compliance alignment, team management, and system integration from first brief to final handover. The role combines packaging design craft with strong programme management capability, working closely with the Global Creative Director, cross-functional stakeholders, and a distributed production design team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAMME LEADERSHIP & DELIVERY
Programme Ownership:
o Own the full 9-month programme roadmap, phase milestones, and team sequencing. Maintain cross-functional alignment and escalate risks and blockers proactively.
o Drive pace and prioritisation without compromising brand or compliance standards.
Team Management:
o Manage a distributed design team: 1 Regional Designer + 4 PHP Production Designers. Coordinate parallel workstreams across brands (OX / BORA / TRACER) and regions.
o Provide design direction, feedback, and quality oversight across all team output.
Brand & Design Governance:
o Act as brand steward across all 320 SKUs — enforcing visual consistency across OX, BORA, and TRACER. Establish packaging execution rules, templates, and standards as the scalable foundation for future launches.
o Review and sign off all artwork prior to final approval release.
Compliance Alignment:
o Lead compliance interpretation and sign-off for ANZ, North America, and EUK. Ensure all regional requirements are captured, documented, and correctly applied on-pack.
o Manage supplier and print validation processes where required.
Physical Product Review:
o Lead in-store product review sessions with products presented as shopped at retail. Conduct competitor benchmarking to inform packaging direction.
o Facilitate cross-functional alignment to lock packaging direction, dieline suitability, and compliance sign-off.
Workflow & Systems Management:
o Configure and manage Wrike workflows, approval status mapping, version control logic, and naming conventions.
o Ensure all revision cycles, QA, and release steps are managed through the structured approval process.
Packaging Library & SharePoint:
o Build and maintain a fully structured SharePoint packaging library with current vs archived organisation at brand and SKU level.
o Ensure working files follow standardised folder structure and naming conventions throughout the programme.
Salsify Integration:
o Ensure all final approved artwork is uploaded to Salsify with direct links to working design files.
o Hand over a fully operational, BAU-ready packaging infrastructure at programme close.
Quality Assurance:
o Maintain programme-wide quality standards across all 320 SKUs, ensuring brand and compliance accuracy at every stage.
o Document all approval decisions and maintain a clear audit trail throughout the programme.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
GLOBAL:
· Work with global marketing teams to ensure consistency in brand and packaging execution across all regions, avoid duplication, and leverage shared assets and resources.
MEETINGS:
· Weekly 1:1 with Global Creative Director
· Bi-weekly / weekly cross-functional programme update
· Monthly marketing and brand review meeting
TRAVEL: Occasional travel to regional offices or supplier sites may be required during the preparation and execution phases.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in graphic design with a strong packaging portfolio (trade, hardware, or consumer products preferred).
2. Demonstrated experience leading a large-scale design rollout — multi-SKU, multi-brand, or multi-region.
3. Deep understanding of packaging production, print processes, dieline requirements, and supplier communication.
4. Strong working knowledge of regional compliance requirements across ANZ, North America, or EUK.
5. High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign essential).
6. Experience using project management and approval workflow tools — Wrike, Asana, or equivalent.
7. Strong understanding of brand systems, visual hierarchy, and design execution standards.
8. Proven ability to manage and direct a distributed design team across multiple active workstreams.
9. Experience working in cross-functional, globally distributed organisations. Familiarity with Salsify or similar PIM/DAM platforms advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead and own end-to-end delivery of the 9-month, 320-SKU regional packaging programme across ANZ, North America, and EUK.
2. Act as the single point of accountability for programme quality, compliance, timeline, and governance.
3. Manage and direct the design team — providing creative direction, QA oversight, and workstream coordination.
4. Establish packaging templates, execution rules, and governance frameworks that serve as the BAU standard at programme close.
5. Build and hand over a fully structured SharePoint packaging library and complete Salsify integration.
