Overview
The Global Legal Counsel will lead the legal function across multiple regions and act as a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team. This role requires commercial judgement, M&A capability, and experience operating within a startup or scale-up environment.
The position has global scope and oversight of four Legal Counsels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
• Partner with the CEO, CFO, COO and investors on strategic initiatives
• Provide commercially focused legal advice aligned with business objectives
• Support international expansion across the US, EMEA and Middle East/Africa
• Deliver risk-based guidance with practical solutions
Mergers & Acquisitions / Investments
• Lead and support M&A transactions, investments and corporate structuring
• Manage due diligence processes and transaction documentation
• Advise on post-acquisition integration and governance matters
Global Legal Leadership
• Oversee and develop a team of four Legal Counsels
• Establish legal frameworks, policies and governance structures across regions
• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements
Commercial & Operational Legal Support
• Provide oversight on commercial contracts and strategic agreements
• Support fundraising activities and investor relations
• Advise on corporate, employment and regulatory matters
Requirements:
Requirements
• Qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience
• Demonstrated M&A and investment transaction experience - mandatory
• In-house experience within a startup or scale-up environment - required
• Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions
• Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and investors
• Commercially focused approach with solution-oriented decision making
• Experience leading and developing legal teams
