Our Tax and Business Advisory division is a well-established team of nearly 500 trusted experts in tax and statutory accounting requirements across New Zealand. Join a team that gives top-quality, practical tax solutions that make an impact that matters for our clients.

The Deloitte Tax team provides advice on all aspects of taxation, including corporate tax return preparation and review, international tax, transfer pricing, transaction assistance (including mergers and acquisitions and tax due diligence), structuring, governance plus global employee tax services.

We are looking for an experienced consultant/ Senior Consultant to join our GES team in Auckland. Being part of this team, you will have the opportunity to do interesting work for interesting clients and grow your career in tax.

As a tax team member, you will enjoy and thrive on making an impact that matters; setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service. You will demonstrate strong core technical skills, with the opportunity to make a real contribution to the growth of our successful Auckland team. 

During your tenure as a Consultant / Senior Consultant, you will be involved in assisting a variety of clients covering a broad range of global employer and mobility tax issues, eventually developing into management of a portfolio of clients. You will develop effective business relationships with clients, deliver outstanding tax advice, exceed our clients’ expectations and partner with their businesses to grow.  There is also an opportunity within this role to develop and grow your skills and expertise within corporate tax. 

Your typical day will include: 

• Delivering exceptional client service; maximising results and driving high performance from people while fostering collaboration across businesses and borders. 
• Influencing clients, teams and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing confident relationships with senior people. 
• Applying knowledge of current and pending tax legislation and understanding interaction across global tax functions, specifically in your areas of expertise. 
• Fact-based decision making by using the appropriate research techniques and skills; and communicating advice clearly and effectively to clients. 
• Improving work efficiency, effectiveness and client service by using common technology tools. 
• Helping clients mitigate risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, and realise business goals. 

 

Your expertise:

You’ll also have 

• 2-5 years’ work experience in a tax / global mobility environment (either in house or professional services, or a mix of these). 
• A strong understanding of end-to-end tax processes a 
• Excellent team player and communication skills. 
• Drive & be client oriented. 
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.
